These hardy teak wood utensils come from various sources including remnants from the logging industry, recycled furniture, and sustainably harvested trees. Teak is a wonderful material to cook with as the tight smooth grain is more durable, stands up to heat, and exposure to liquids. However, we recommend treating all your wooden utensils with care and they will love you back for a lifetime. We sourced these from a small independently run family business in the sparsely populated Loei province in northeast Thailand, where artisans learn skilled crafts through a program subsidized by the Royal family in an effort to create and promote community development and a sustainable livelihood through traditional handicrafts. The accentuated curve of this spoon and flat sides makes it a great tool for cutting into and scooping souffles and casseroles alike.
