Wheel-thrown by ceramic artist Nobu Nishigawara of WRF Lab, these dinner plates reflect his Japanese heritage reinterpreted in a modern setting. Sized from a dinner plate to a dessert plate, they are made of porcelain clay fired to cone 10 to achieve a non-porous vitreous clay body, each bowl is then hand dipped in a soft cool grey glaze and re-fired. This results in a glossy blue tint and characteristic burnt orange ring where the glaze meets the raw clay. Hand-crafted individually, each plate is unique from the next giving a range of depth and tonality within each set.
Pieces sold individually. We highly recommend purchasing a full set plus 2 additional to ensure consistency within each lot. Due to the highly variable nature of handmade ceramics, we cannot ensure pieces will match exactly, although we consider this to be a desirable trait of all handmade goods.
